This can occur when the EFC address, which should appear between the Contacting UTS brackets in the Details log shown above, was not carried forward into the 2009 setup files. To resolve this problem, you must delete all the Setup files in the UTSxx directory.
To delete these files:
Close UltimateTax. If on a network, close the program on all workstations.
Right-click the Start button, and then click Explore.
Navigate to the X:\UTSxx folder (where X: is the drive on which UltimateTax is installed, and xx corresponds to the tax year of your program).
Right-click each file called setup (with any file extension, such as setup.0), and then click Delete.
Click Yes to confirm each deletion.
When you have deleted each of these files, open UltimateTax.
When prompted to carry forward last year’s setup information, click No.
Click No to any other carry forward prompts.
This information applies to all years of the UltimateTax software.
