It's important to stay current with all module and form updates. These updates keep your federal and state tax forms, calculations, and print files current with IRS guidelines. If you are receiving rejects for not being updated (commonly known as EFC Reject 38), updating your modules will often fix this issue.
To update your modules, start by signing into your software as Admin. After signing in, find your Communications option at the top and select it. Then select Get Module Updates from the dropdown menu.
Once you click that option, another window will open and appear to show a progress bar as well as a checklist. This is the Electronic Filing Center and facilitates the e-filing of your returns, as well as handles your module updates and acknowledgements.
Once the process is complete, if you have any pending updates you will be notified about them being downloaded, and then asked if you would like to apply them. You will click Yes. After clicking Yes, any pending module updates that were downloaded will now be applied.
Once the process is finished you can click OK and your states will be installed!
Please note that you must do this to only one computer on your network and the update will be applied to all PCs on the network.
