Print Packets determine what is printed out when you print out your return. Which pages, federal or state, and whether they are the mail copy or file copy. These packets can be edited in a variety of ways to include forms, exclude forms, print multiple copies of a specific form, or even have them printed in a different order.
You may edit your Print Packets at any time by logging into your UltimateTax software as an Admin user. Once logged in, select Tools at the top of the window and select Utilities/Setup Assistant. A new window will open called Utilities.
In the Utilities window, you will need to click on Setup and then select View/Edit Print Packets. A new window will open with two panes. The left pane is what forms you have available, and the right pane represents what is currently set up in the print packet. Change which packet you are editing by using the dropdown box at the top.
You may also change Print Packets on the fly during print jobs. While printing a return, in the print window you have an option on the right to Modify Packets. This lets you change print packets for a specific job, rather than setting the standard for all print jobs. You may also set the Save Options to save your print packet changes to the job, or make it a global change.
