On the Michigan Form 1040, page 1, near the top of the form, there is a check box to select if you are not required to file a Michigan return, and you are only e-filing the credit forms.
If you select this check box, any Michigan credit forms that can be e-filed alone will be electronically filed. Remember that this check box should only be selected if the taxpayer is not required to file a Michigan return.
