What is the form used for?
- A form 3115 is filed to change either an entity's overall accounting method or the accounting treatment of any item, such as switching to the accrual method, accelerating depreciation, expensing a previously capitalized item under §263(a), or a change in the reporting of inventory.

How to access the form: To access the form, you will need to open a return in the Miscellaneous package on the desktop and then go to Add Form/Display and type 3115.
Limits to the form: This form is a business form and can only be accessed from the desktop software. This form can be copied.
