What is the form used for?

• W4 is used to compute the federal income tax to deduct and withhold from employee
• Form W-4 is completed so an employer can withhold the correct federal income tax from employee pay. Consider completing a new Form W-4 each year and when the personal or financial situation changes.

Is the form Supported in our program? Yes, both Online and Desktop

How to access the form: In the Online software, open a return and select the Add Form (+) button on the top left of the Forms List, then search W4. In the Desktop software, open a 1040 return and select Form>Add Form/Display Form List at the top of the program window. Then, search for W4 in the search box. 

Limits to the form: No known limitations.
