Solution: Verify the Dependent's date of birth information entered with the date of birth on the dependent's birth certificate. If the birth certificate and year of birth entered match, have the taxpayer contact the Social Security Administration at 1-800-772-1213 to correct their records. It takes approximately two weeks for this information to be updated in the IRS e-File database.
