Solution: The Taxpayer needs to contact the Social Security Administration at 1-800-772-1213 to verify the date of birth information they have on file for the qualifying child on Schedule EIC. The Social Security Administration will need to update the IRS e-File database if the information is incorrect. This process takes approximately two weeks for the information to be updated in the IRS e-File database. If the information on file is correct, you will have to remove the qualifying child to electronically file the return
