When using Windows Vista there is the potential for fonts to appear faded in the UTS program.
To correct you can ensure that ClearType is enabled. To enable, you’ll need to open the classic Appearance Settings dialog. Right click on the desktop and choose Personalize. Then click on Window Color and Appearance:
If you have Aero enabled, you’ll have to click on “Open classic appearance properties for more color options”.
Click on the “Effects…” button and make sure that your computer has the checkbox for font smoothing enabled.
If the font still appears faded, you can uninstall the Windows Update: KB3013455.
To uninstall a specific update:
Start–>Control Panel–>Programs and Features–>View Installed Updates
Search for KB3013455 (search box is top right of window).
Right-click then select Uninstall. Restart the computer and the fonts in the program should look normal.
This applies to 2016, 2015, and all prior years. Note: Windows Vista is not supported for UltimateTax 2017 and above.
